Decided to go with the Smith Vortex for the Gemtech G5. Found my EoTech 557 so all I need is my RIS II.

Seems it depends on Block II or whatever. It seems the military uses several types, KAC being prevalent too.

Well, I found a Lite Rail 12" and the Vortex on the other site. She's done with parts, just need to get them here and put her together.

Thanks! I'm still looking for a RIS II in FDE. Once I find it the swap is easy as the Lite and RIS II take the same barrel nut. Then I'll start my next build using the Lite.

I was playing with it all hand fitted together, nothing tightened up. It's like being back home, haven't felt the love of an M4 since Iraq.

Looks excellent. Rainier Arms makes some really good stuff and when I did my build they didn't seem to be out of stock for everything.
