The time to learn to use your personal trauma kit is not when you or someone else is bleeding out!!!

When life expectancy is measured in seconds and help is minutes away, will you know what to do? In our uncertain lives, that is a question that we all need to be able to answer a resounding, “Yes!” to.

Dark Angel Medical, LLC, is proud to offer training and instruction in the use of the D.A.R.K. The Tactical Aid Course fills a niche between military self-aid/buddy care training and civilian EMS training and is geared towards those with little to no medical training or background. It provides the student with critical, need-to-know information, which can be utilized in a myriad of situations and stresses the ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ principle as well as our own principle of “Simplicity Under Stress”.

The course is 2 days in length with a total of 16 hours of classroom work to include slide presentations, videos, question and answer sessions and hands-on practical skills application.

***There are no prerequisites for this class***

A manual and all training aids will be provided. A D.A.R.K. will also be provided to each student as part of the tuition. Cost of the course (2 days instruction plus the D.A.R.K.—a $159.95 value) is $450.00 per person.
The course covers the following:
◾Physiological and Psychological reactions to environmental stress
◾The importance of having the proper Combat Mindset
◾Basic Anatomy and Physiology of life-sustaining systems
◾H, A, B, C’s—Hemorrhage, Airway, Breathing and Circulation
◾Breakdown and usage of Individual Med Kit components
◾Proper stowage and employment of the IMK
◾Hands-on application of the IMK
◾Basic and Advanced Airway management -treating and monitoring tension pneumothorax, sucking chest wound and flail chest
◾Airway adjunct device placement-Nasopharyngeal Airway
◾Basic First Aid and Advanced wound care
◾Application of Bandages and Hemostatic Agents
◾Application of tourniquets
◾Recognition and Treatment of various injuries (Gunshot, Laceration, Burn, Airway, Head, Orthopedic, Environmental)
◾Recognition and treatment of hypovolemic (hemorrhagic) shock
◾Moving and positioning victims with various injuries
◾Response to active shooter situation
◾Proper use of cover and cover vs. concealment
◾Casualty recovery in an Active Shooter situation
◾Mass casualty triage procedure
◾Emergency Medical Dialect/Lingo (911 protocol, cooperation with LE, Fire and EMS and First Responders)

Hardware/Kit
◾Note pad and pen/pencil/Sharpie
◾Individual First Aid Kit—If you choose to. All training materials are provided.
◾Clothing suited to strenuous type activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
◾Appropriate foot wear
◾Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
◾Gloves (optional)
◾An open mind

Registration

Registration for classes will be accomplished by going to Dark Angel’s “Products” page (http://darkangelmedical.com/LiabilityWaiver.html). The student will not be charged tax (if out of state—in-state Colorado residents will be charged applicable sales tax).

They will also have a choice of either Coyote Brown, MultiCam, Ranger Green or Black pouches. Please type in color selection in the ‘Special Instructions’ box on the order form.

If multiple classes are open for registration, it is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they have annotated which class they are registering for in the ‘Special Instructions’ box on the order form. We will have a course schedule on our website with all course dates and locations.

If paying for more than one student, please add the additional student(s) name(s) in the ‘Instructions/Comments’ box on the order form so that we can have a correct head count on our roster.

Registration will end 28 days out from the class date unless additional slots remain open or the class has not met it’s minimum number of participants. If a class has not met the required minimum number of participants at 21 days out from the class date, the class will be cancelled and 100% tuition refunded or the participant can choose to enroll in the next scheduled class.–See cancellation policy below.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

100% of the tuition will be collected up-front. This allows Dark Angel Medical, LLC to make all necessary logistical arrangements for the course. We are CCR registered. See DUNS and CAGE info at bottom of page.

A student may cancel up to 28 days in advance and will receive a 2/3 refund (1/3 Cancellation charge). If a student cancels after 28 days but before 14 days, they will receive a 1/3 refund (2/3 Cancellation charge). If they cancel 14 days or less before class date, there will be NO refund/100% cancellation charge.

If the class has to be cancelled due to lack of participants, all students who have not cancelled voluntarily will receive a full refund.



Cancellation by Dark Angel Medical, LLC

Dark Angel Medical, LLC reserves the right to cancel the program with reasonable notice give or due to any emergency on our part with no notice given. All students who have not cancelled voluntarily will receive a full refund or the student can choose to apply the fees towards another class. We will then work with the host to reschedule another class.

By registering for a class, the participant agrees that in the event of a cancellation or otherwise, Dark Angel Medical, LLC, will not be held legally nor financially responsible for any fees, non-refundable or other, related to airfares, other airfare penalties or other travel costs such as lodging, food or rental cars nor will they be responsible for lost wages due to time off from work.

Waivers will be signed and witnessed prior to each course start.
