Obviously it's a matter of personal preference, when you paint your mags do you paint the floor plate to match?
What do you do and why?

I don't paint the floor but I use my floor plate not only for marking ownership but I also mark what follower that mag has (green vs black USGI, magpul, brownelles, c-products) along with whether its a range mag or a long-term storage / bug out mag, the difference being loaded to capacity for the range mags or down-loaded a few rounds for the long term storage mags. Not that I couldnt mark over paint, I guess I just like it uniform.
Maybe one day if I decided to paint all my mags I might go all out but I really don't ever see that happening.

My can of Rustoleum can't tell the difference between the floor plate and the rest of the magazine.

I do just the bodies of my carbine mags.
I do just the floor plates of my Glock mags.
