MD has had a seven day waiting period for regulated firearms for years. With the AWB proposed by our governor, there is a spike in purchasing, resulting in a 5-7 week wait. :( Many small business had to purchase more safes to secure the purchased firearms.

Think about this: 17 friggin databases!

"Officers and staff who must process the applications need to tap into fully 17 different databases to check backgrounds. "

"We are not going to sacrifice safety for speed." says the MSP.

Why is it again that a few miles north in PA folks get their scary pistols the same day? Must be blood in the streets up there if it's a safety issue.

There is a "comment" following the article by WBAL that basically states your (and all of the shootist in MD) position.

If a MD resident isn't a Designated Regulated Firearms Collector, he|she won't be able to purchase another regulated firearm until MSP authorizes the release of the 1st one. What a bitch.
