Sigh. I ****ed up my frame trying to stipple it. It ended up being very agressive and ass ugly so i decided to start over. Instead of sanding it down i used the soldering iron to melt the texture over to get everything as flat as possible and start over. I stippled it again and now the mags dont drop free. Even the ones that came with this frame dont anymore.
Does anyone know if glock sells replacement gen 4 frames? I have only seen gen 3 frames on glockstore and glockmeister. I dont think its salvageable, it looks like shit and it would probably be cheaper to just replace. Do you think there will be any accuracy or other issues with a different frame since the numbers dont match?
Since the frame Cary's the SN I doubt they sell replacements. If they did it would have to be handled as a new firearm. Learning by doing can be expensive. Good luck getting resolution.

Could someone measure a glock 17 mag front to back at the notch for the mag release? Mine measure 1.302" fully loaded and 1.307" empty.
I sent a frame off to Glock that I purchased altered. I can't remember what they charged me but they did replace it. They kept the old frame and sent my ffl holder a new frame. I experienced no accuracy issues and other than the serial number being different you'd have never known.
I have heard and read that they will replace for a price and trade in of the old frame. Call Glock for first hand information.
As stated, contact Glock. They will give you instructions to replace your frame.
One of the most frequent reasons for frame replacement. Call Glock, they are used to these. Have about $150 ready.

I wonder if i can do this to get a FDE frame for my G19 Gen4.......
Hahaha.
No.
With FDE frames being for a specific customer not like they would have a bunch lying around for replacement.

Well i got my replacement frame today. It cost me $110, my ffl shipped it so shipping was cheap and glock sent it directly back to me so no transfer fee. :dance3:

Did they give you the same serial number for the new frame?

no it is a new serial number. it is my last initial and made up of numbers in my address, i'm not sure if that's a coincidence. i'm also starting to think that maybe they just put my old frame in a mold and remolded it. i can see a little bit of flash in some parts and some areas look like they are not molded correctly, i don't know if its just me, i never really payed attention to these areas on my old frame so i don't know if the frame is supposed to be like that. the only other glock i have is a 17 so i dont think it would be the same. can someone look at their G19 gen 4 and tell me if there's is the same in these areas?
look at the locking block area

Sucks you screwed up your frame.
My gen3 G26 test fire date June 2012 displays the same molding "flaws"
I'm fairly certain it's normal and no cause for concern.
ETA: Also I highly doubt Glock remolded upon your old frame. The most likely destroyed the jacked up one.

My gen 4 Glock 23 looks the same on the inside near the locking block, shouldn't be an issue as far as I know.

my gen4 frames look the same near the locking block. i found this thread when i was searching for answers when i found the exposed metal in my molding. i thought something was terribly wrong with my frame molding.
do everyone's gen4 frames expose some metal in this way?

My Gen 4 did as well before I got rid of it.

Normal. The old one is now recycled polymer.
