View Full Version : Anyone running the Magpul XTM Hand Stop?

I'm looking at various VFG's & AGV's as well as some other hand stops... I don't know if these are new, or what, but I haven't found a lot of review type info on them. I can't find one in my local area that I can actually put my hands on either... Anyone running one that can offer some pro's & con's? Looks like it might be a good compromise between the AFV & VFG.

Just as a fyi, the only one's I have seen online are in black thus far. I'd be interested to hear about them as well if anyone has snagged a kit of these.

Yep. I have had mine for a little over a month and I like it so far. It fits my hand well and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I grip it with my index finger in front of the forward stop and my other three fingers between the two. It attaches very solidly.

I like it but don't use the xtm panels or the front piece. Works better this way for me.

I actually found that the hand stop forces my wrist into an uncomfortable angle. I have to angle my hand at the wrist closer to my body. I prefer the AFG.

OT but I have got to get me one of those rails.

I am.

I like it. It's about what you'd expect. Won't lie - I kind of miss my VFG still. I think it's a great lightweight and simple option though for people who don't necessarily need a VFG.

Worth the $20.

Do those of you that use the XTM have issues with the rails cutting your hands? Some rails I've seen are razor sharp, and I figured with any bare rail contact it'd split your hand wide open.

Sort of. Its way more comfortable for me to use the panels. You could always wear gloves.

I have the XTM Hand Stop kit, and I really like it.

Since the XTM line comes in several pieces, there are actually at least 3 different configurations you can apply to your gun....using all or some of the kit parts.

Like the rest of the Magpul line, its well designed and it just works.
