I have stumbled upon a Daniel Defense CHF 16" barrel that I have been looking for for my latest build, but it is a carbine configuration. I want a mid-length, but those are non-existent at the moment (damn, wonder why).
I already have a 14.5" mid-length, and want to go a full 16". Should I go ahead and grab the 16" carbine length, or wait?
Actually found a DD CHF 14.5" mid-length, but don't want to pin the muzzle device. Should I grab that instead?
ETA: This is for a lighter weight build over my LMT/Noveske 11 pound tank; range defense; varmint; 3-gun; another space taken up in the safe. I just like building them.
Does it have to be a DD upper? BCM middy uppers are coming up for sale daily. I don't know anyone in the market for a DD that would turn their nose up to one of these.
Here's one in stock now.

If you have the cash, go for it. Two is one...

It's just the barrel I'm looking for. Already have the upper receiver (stripped).

Only one. Just witch one. Carbine 16" or 14.5 middy?
I would get the 16" mid length you seem to want. I would buy a complete BCM Mid URG, remove the barrel and sell the stripped upper. I was recently in the market for just a bare BCM upper receiver and those are non-existent. I don't think you'd have any problem selling it fast and end up where you want. Just a thought.

That would be great...if I had the money for that whole package. I just need the bloody barrel.
Any down sides running a 16" carbine length over the middy?

More than one thread found with a "Search".
Try this one: 16" carbine length over the middy (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=89497)
I would be very happy with either a 14.5" carbine gas, or 16" midlength. not vice versa...
