I was able to get 500 pcs of new .223 brass online, but the only bullets in stock that I can find is the 50 grain Hornady V-Max. My Colt has a 1:7" twist so I'm wondering if the light weight 50 grain would be accurate enough or should I wait for some 55 grain V-Max to become available? Thanks.

what is "accurate enough" to you? I shot some 50gr vmax through my 1:7 PSA and killed a coyote at 100 yds. But it shot 3.5 MOA from a bench.

my friend and i shot 50 grain speer hp and 40gr nosler ballistic tips(similar to v-max) bullets a few weekends ago and were hitting steel at 300 yards no problem. i have a 1 in 8 twist he has a 1 in 7. the v-max have a good reputation for accuracy. they should work fine for you

50 will probably work. Ideally you want to just spin a bullet fast enough to stabilize it. excessive spin creates more pressure an heat. I'm sure that's no biggie for a chrome lined AR barrel though.
