I have a BCM lightweight with a carbine gas system, will this rail allow me to keep my FSB after it is installed or will I have to mount a front sight to the rail and use a low profile gas block?

You will be able to keep the FSB.
Although you will have to remove it to install the rail.

I wondered the same thing. But then again, I hate the carbine set up, so I think I'll go with the alpha 15
