Hi all,
Literally just got done assembling my first ever AR build. Last piece I needed was the charging handle. Put it in and did a few function tests and everything works great. I kept pulling back the bolt just to make sure it was sliding back nicely like it should. Then I chambered a round of PMC bronze. Made sure it would eject. No problems there. Slid the bolt back a few more times and it started getting hung up on something or dragging on something. So I open up the carbine and applied a bit of lube to the bolt, bcg, and ch. Kept dragging. So I pulled it apart again and inspected it with a flashlight and this is what I noticed.. The annodizing wearing on one side of the charging handle. I saw a bit of powder from where the annodizing came off where the charging handle sits. Well upon closer inspection I noticed that it looks like the annodizing was chipping near the ejection port. It also looks like something was spilled inside the upper as it is kind of white colored. My question is, what the hell is going on? Is this normal for a brand new build? Is wearing on the charging handle weird at all? Does it just need to be broken in? I'm not sure what's going on. All I know is that a gun smith and I have been the only ones to lay hands on this upper. When I had it, it stayed in the safe completely untouched. And all the gun smith did was install a knights URX 3.1 handguard for me. Also the only thing I have done is applied a bit of frog lube to it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Below are some included pics of what I could see. I tried to do my best getting it all on camera but its difficult to take pictures. I will take any others on request.

Your gas tube is tweaked because your gunsmith is a BOOB! Everything will be fine, relax, breath stop paying him.

This advice was free, and may also be incorrect.

As posted above, the gas tube is crooked.
Your gunsmith doesn't know what he's doing.

The wear in the upper from the dust cover detent is normal.
The wear on the charging handle is normal.
The "white stuff" inside the upper is moly dry lube.

Another victim of a stupid gunsmith that had no business touching your AR. Next time try a more subtle title that doesn't appear to lambaste BCM because of something Joe Bubba did.
