International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) cancels Colorado regional championship thanks to Gov. Hickenlooper-State Democrats gun grabs

“With these new Colorado laws going into effect July 1, and based on the ambiguous way in which they were written, we have decided to cancel the Rocky Mountain Western States Regional IDPA Championship,” said event organizer Walt Proulx of Grand Junction.
“Due to the growing number of hunters and shooters choosing to boycott Colorado, and the risk that these laws as written will turn law-abiding citizens into criminals, we were left with no other choice but to cancel what was planned to be one of IDPA’s major regional championships, and one strongly supported by Montrose-area businesses.”

Saw that too. Good news.

HiViz out of Fort Collins is packing up and leaving as well...

Gov Hickenlooper stopped taking calls at his office, removed the feature to message him and is basically hiding from his constituency...

What a shame, for sure loss revenue to CO. Tomorrow the dog and pony show is arriving for the signing. I am interested in seeing what props are standing behind potus.

Glad to see IDPA and Hi-Viz are pushing back. The only way to get anyone's attention is through their wallet.

So much for democracy. Asshats....

Like T2C, I'm happy everyone's jumping the hell out of CO as a boycott.

Politicians only understand one language: moola. When they won't listen to reason and ignore constituents' concerns, then the only way to give them feedback they understand is voting with your wallet and your feet. No one company or event will make a drip of difference. But a growing number of these will have an effect.

S&W is one one example of a slow, gradual, steady fractional boycott that ground down margins. I think S&W and Ruger are going gang busters since they had management changed from Quislings to stand-up folks.

Walt and his son Austin are good people. Glad to see there's at least one Colorado youth getting a proper education from his father.
