I'm looking to get some new night sights for the Shield. What options do I have?

Anything for the M&P line of pistols will work. The rear will be a little large and may be flush with the sides of the slide. I have a set of M&P TFOs on my shield.

I just installed Ameriglo i-dot SW-141 on my Shield. This one is made for the Shield so no over hang with the rear sight. I tested fired it yesterday. I am every pleased with this setup. I also have used Ameriglo on Glocks for years and they have held up well.

I like Ameriglo's Ken Hackathorn sight. Night and fiber optic combo. The green trijicon insight is large and very bright at night. Orange fiber optic catches your eye quickly in daytime. Simple and quick aiming.
Model SW433B for M&P, I would verify they fit the Shield.

I have three pair on my Glocks, I plan to put them on my M&P pistols. They are about $79 for a front and rear pair.

FYI- there is a little disc under the rear sight on an M&P. Keeps a spring in place. It will fly out when you drift off the rear sight. Go slow and you will see it.

Have fun

Do these fit the Shield? They're on my Glock and I love em

Warrens work well
They are narrow enough to fit and look good on the Shield

Mike, do the Warrens for the standard M&P overhang the slide on the Shield at all?

No they don't over hang at all. They look like they were made for the Shield

I went with the ameriglo previously pictured and blacked out the rear with a marker. Sorry for the crappy cell pic. They work well for me.

The Ameriglo Hacks aren't fiber optic. They're tritium with a photoluminova paint that glows, not a fiber optic tube.

10-8 Performance front sight for the M&P works with the shield. They are working on the rear sight.

They make a similar version for the Shield, but it has a U notch rear sight. I wish they offered the serrated square notch.

Anyone make just regular - 3 dot night sights with white circles around the tritium? I don' like that new style of trijicon sight with the orange around the tritium. I also don't care for big dot sights, or an all black rear (or tritium with no white circle around it).

So far, the only solution I have seen are using fullsize M&P sights

Ameriglo SW-145 is basically what your describing.

Thanks....

I've been tempted to contact Tooltech Gunsight and just have the existing ones drilled (with tritium inserted). People did that for the subcompact PX4 when it first came out - as did they for the HK45. I'm really happy with the accuracy of my current sights - just want them to glow

Just FYI, for those interested in the Hackathorne Ameriglo sights, they will fit the shield. The width of the rear sight exactly matches the slide and does not overhang. The contour of the rear sight does not exactly match the contour of the slide. Not a big deal for those who carry a gun for a working purpose.

Well, I think I found the sights that are going on my Glocks.

Does anyone know if anyone is going to make rear sights specifically for the Shield.
Or are they just gonna ride it out with the oversized rear sights?

Seems like while any M&P sights fit, the rear hangs off the sides slightly and just looks odd to me.

Trijicon HD from the rear. They do not hang over on the sides but the edge of the rear is sharp.

Ameriglo does, it is part number SW-149PR. Keep in mind that it has the rounded notch. And although I would have preferred the squared notch on the rear sight, I went ahead and made my own Hack set for my Shield using it and the S&W front sight with the green tritium and orange outline. I spent more than I wanted, but got a similar set up to what I have on most of my Glocks. I was also able to use the GSSF discount code on my order.

I recently installed the Ameriglo SW-251 night sights and absolutely love them. They are almost exactly like Trijicon HD sights but better in my opinion. The rear tritium inserts are more pronounced than on the Trijicon HD. By the way, the Ameriglo SW-251 are M&P Shield specific, so no overhang or anything. I like them better than the Meprolights on my Glocks. The orange front sight is great for quick target acquisition in daylight.

Too bad I just bought trijicon hd's or I would have bought these.
They look the same for $60 less than the Trijicons.

+1 I put the Ameriglo iDot (Trijicon tritium vials) on my Shield and my G17 Glock. I really really like them. My wife is borrowing my Shield for her ladies class and ccw class and during practie she likes the orange dot saying it's easy to pick up on the targets. The Ameriglo's fit the Shield PERFECTLY.

I had TruGlo TFO in a Glack G17...TOTAL JUNK made in China....if you are not babying the gun these will break.

+1 for the AmeriGlo SW-251's. Just put them on my Shield this week and they working out great so far. The front sight with the orange outline is very fast to pickup when shooting in daylight and of course they work great in dark/low light as well.
Hienie, Ameriglo, XS Big Dots, and 10-8 all make Shield specific sights. The 10-8's require some fitting according to what I've read.

I with you! I prefer the regular Trijicon with the white outline, but with orange rears. Great contrast. You can still see the orange rear sites well, but the green front site really pops!

I went with atria HD's. The I dots are nice too. I have found I prefer a blacked out rear for day shooting and three dot for night, hence HD's are perfect. HD' are harder to find in stock and cost more.

Hello all,

I plan on getting one of these after the new year and was wondering about how everyone carries theirs. I plan on going with AIWB most of the time with pocket carry if needed. What holsters are you guys using? Does anyone have the Lasermax/Crimsion trace laser that goes around the trigger guard and do you like it?

Thanks!

I just picked up my Shield today and also installed Trijicon HDs. I'm a huge fan of the sights and all my other pistols wear them as well. One thing... the sights on these are TIGHT compared to other M&Ps. It took a little time and coaxing to get the stock sights out.

I tried to get some shots that show the overhang (not really noticeable) of the sights installed on the Shield.
