I own a Chiappa M1911-22...mixed thoughts and some bad experience and some good experience with the 'ole cheapa' which is what my 17 year old kid calls it.
I think my bad experiences was caused mostly by cruddy Winchester un-plated bulk pack ammo which leaded the Cheapa bad!!...BAD!..This same ammo did leave some lead in my Buckmark too..and in a Ruger revolver..but just a few mag-fulls leaded the Chiappa 1911-22 from breech to muzzle!(and I did this like twice!!)
Anyhow...after I learned my lesson about un-plated lead .22 ammo and not to use it in the Cheapa...and the gun broke in a bit...and I learned it works best clean..it ain't too bad for a pot metal pistol!
I would prefer a GSG 1911-22..maybe a Colt Umerex...but I'm getting along ok now with a Chiappa as a .22 cal 1911 understudy to my real 1911 pistols.
What about the Beretta-clone Cheapa's?? Are they as cheesy as the 1911-22 pistols by Chiappa? (they look better made online to me)
Anybody have a Chiappa M92-22 Beretta clone to report on?
