I need an OWB holster for range-use that will offer good retention for a G19 w/X300u light. What's the best quality bang for the buck? Should fit a wilderness instructor belt.

I really like Dark Star Gear a lot. One of his G19/X300 holsters is $75 and I think about a month wait

Try the DSG Alpha holster. It's in stock. I've used one for a M&P and I like it.

Says its for IWB?

I used a Fobus paddle holster once and really liked it. Not saying I want a fobus, but that's just the type.

It's OWB. It can be converted to IWB. But the stock configuration is OWB.

I'll call about X300u fitment. Would be nice to find something that worked with the light detached, as well, though.

Kaluban Cloak is the only one I have heard of that does. I'm sure there are others out there as well.

I happened to see this on Atomic Dog's Facebook page and I asked if they had any instock. This is what they told me:

Actually "Apricotshot", pass on our email. I just checked the list and the next order is a G19 with X300U. If I am pressing one, might as well press a few and keep them handy so we might be able to help him out. Atomicdogholsters@gmail.com

BEware that Kaluban Cloak does not have a stellar record on their delivery schedule.

Many companies make the holster that fit the combination of equipment that the original poster inquired. Raven Concealment system is the gold standard.

Yeah I saw that train wreck of a thread on LF.

Agreed, I was quoted three to six weeks by DarkStarGear and got mine in about a week.

Dark Star is a great product. Great guy to deal with as well. Is this holster needed for a class?

Raven has G17/X300 ultra holsters in their ready-now stock. I also really like the Safariland ALS holsters, and their "concealment" models will fit a 1.5" or 1.75 belt. Optics Planet is usually pretty quick for those.

I ordered an Atomic Dog and Brian is pretty sure he can get it to me on time. Thanks all, and thanks to several of you for very generous offers! I will post up my impression when I get the holster, but keep in mind I'm no holster maven as you may have guessed!

My Atomic Dog holster arrived today, and I am happy to report that my weapon/light fit it flawlessly. It is as simple as a rock, and just as tough. I want to thank Brian for getting this to me, as it's totally my fault I put off ordering a holster, and he picked up the slack for me. Class in 3 more days, totally pumped!

Like I originally said, I am no holster maven, but this holster did exactly what I wanted for VTAC Streetfighter. It retained my weapon flawlessly, yet I was able to draw with both support and strong-hand readily. It got dirty, but otherwise maintained new-in-box configuration. There really isn't much else to be said, it does exactly what it is intended to do, very well. I recommend it, and will buy another for this purpose when/if the need arises for another platform. I am very thankful for Brian's awesome CS and getting me this holster ASAP! Good price, good guy to deal with, good product. What else can be said?
