I caught the first episode of VICE on HBO last week. I thought it was a pretty good show. The first episode had a segment on the deadly politics in the Philippines and the home grown weapon shops. Also a segment on child suicide bombers. Well worth a look.

VICE had a show a few years back, I'm not sure what network it was on, but I watched it on Netflix on demand. They had two episodes that really stood out to me - one had an American reporter visiting North Korea, which was pretty interesting to see from a "tourist's" point of view. The other episode had an American reporter of Paki descent who visited the tribal region (Pashtun maybe?), and watched people hand-crafting firearms that looked surprisingly close to the factory models they were imitating. Pretty sketchy place for sure. Interesting show.
