Attention BCM owners

Anyone installed a SIRT? Did you have any issues with the install?
Did you find product useful? Did you need additional tools just to install the product?

Thanks for your replies.

SIRT laser? I can't see why it would be any different than any other milspec AR-15

just that some AR such as DPMS(???) has fitting problem.

since I have a BCM, I figure, go ahead and narrow it down to one model.

thanks

UPDATE: It fits a BCM.

About two-three weeks ago, I gave in and ordered a SIRT AR-Bolt (http://www.nextleveltraining.com/story/pre-order-sirt-ar-bolt), mainly due to
--- short supply of ammo
--- expensive ammo
--- extreme cold weather
--- busy schedule
I just didn't have time to go the range.
Again, my go to range is indoor at 25yard/meters only (http://article2range.com/gun-range/).

I've been dry firing in the basement. Mainly doing
--- familiarizing placing my trigger finger outside the trigger
--- flicking the safe only when aiming
--- dry fire and hearing the reset of the trigger
---- moving back to safe before lowering the rifle
---- placing my trigger finger BACK outside the trigger

So I would do half hour on this 3x a week. Changing from standing, kneeling, strong side and support side (developed tennis elbow/ tendinitis so be carefull)

I'm glad I took pictures before I started using SIRT AR-Bolt. Here's before:

Then Friday, local store had a sale on .223 and bought 60-80 rounds and re-zeroed Micro-H1 (lower 1/3) for 25-50yard zero (my front sight and BUIS is zeroed for 50-200 meters)

After training on a SIRT AR-Bolt

So, just passing this experience with this tool, if you're in the same boat as I am. I recommend it.
Here's a coupon code: 4GGSHOTSHOW I got off FourGuysGuns Youtube channel (http://youtu.be/AERFtWwbZm0)

I'm just a civilian training, not LEO, but was in the Marines in '92, so my limited experience is just that, limited. I know I'm not alone with these situations, so I'm just sharing my experience.
I'm not claiming to be anything else, other than being responsible citizen, and constantly training.

Nice results!

The code "survival" works too.

If someone is going to be using this SIRT on their AR _indoors_ only, do you think the cheaper Red laser version is fine? Or spring for the more expensive Green laser?

sorry, but I based my decision to get the red laser based on my home application. The green from my research is that more for higher visibility. I could be wrong. On the plus side, the red laser works on Laserlyte targets, not the green laser. So you can expand your dry-fire training. It's a little stiff for me to get the Laserlyte, simply because I can record on my iPad where my POI were. If I get the time I'll try to record a short video on what I mean on this.

maybe this video will help with your decision

Just a head's up for anybody thinking about going this route. It DOES NOT work on 2 stage triggers... at least from what I have read. I was seriously thinking about getting one of these until I read the fine print.

Same here. I thought about it, but no dice for two stage triggers.

Also, this is one of the few positive reviews I've heard on their AR product. I've seen a lot of people complaining about fit issues. Supposedly, the manufacturer expects you to have to modify the product to fit different rifles. Not sure if this is meant for out of spec uppers/lowers/bolts or what.

Here's one.

OP, did you have to trim the SIRT to fit your BCM?

Coming back this to give another follow up review.

Battery life still works. I initially contacted NextLevel for an RMA, but, after a few days of putting off shipping it back for a $39 repair+ship back, this thing decided to work again.
Somewhat.

The laser got finicky...had to make adjustment for its elevation and windage before I got the laser to shoot out of the housing.
Trial and error cost me nearly 45 minutes...so much for a 30 minutes I save to do some dry firing drills.

After that initial 45 minutes, another 30 minutes fiddling with the metal push rod to adjustable to get the proper length for your rifle’s trigger to be activated.
First 20 minutes must be trying to shorten it to get it to stop activating laser permanently. Another 10 to get right where it's On and Off with the trigger.

Now pissed, because, it's going to get another 30 minutes to find the Loctite, so I don't have to this again.

The value is still there. it gets honest where you're POA and actual POI gets shown by the laser. Specially shooting off door frames. You'll know if your shooting your door frame or not once that laser shines in your eyes if you don't clear your barrel.
The construction and assembly is where this needs severe improvement.

@TexanInCali
No trimming necessary.

Thanks for your posts very informative. But I've got some questions as I've actually thought of picking one up for training. I have the LaserAmmo for my handguns and I do have to say it works. Even just 15mins a day makes a big difference. but back to the SIRT

Does it self reset or do you need to charge the handle?

How easy is it to remove when your done, do you need to use a cleaning rod from the muzzle end?

And I'm going to assume you can't really do any failure drills while its inside?

I'll refer you to this instructions

It takes a little elbow grease on mine, maybe because of the carbon build up and how cold the metal....I just use a flat head screw driver to remove

And I'm going to assume you can't really do any failure drills while its inside?

No you cannot
