I Saw Something, So I'm Saying Something

By Stella Paul

Are you fed up with the antiseptic slogan, "If you see something, say something?"

The authorities expect us to report suspicious backpacks, but stay silent as the tomb about the nature of the men who put them there.
We're instructed to speak up about a bloodied man's movement under a boat tarp, but to shut up about the ideological movement that drove him to commit his carnage.

Well, as it happens, I've seen quite a lot of things over the last few years that I'd like to say something about -- enough things to break a heart and to kill a country.

And after the Boston Massacre committed by two immigrant jihadis, I'm going to say them…

The NYPD claims their "stop and frisk" policies (which statistics indicate targets young black and hispanic males) have not only contributed to a dramatic turnaround in NYC crime over the past decade but now may actually have increased the average life expectancy of New Yorkers: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2312961/NYPD-credits-controversial-stop-frisk-program-rise-life-expectancy-homicide-rates-plummet.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

But somehow "profiling" young Arab-American males is strictly verboten?

Yeah, I know, it's a civil liberties nightmare. And, as evidenced by the comments in the other thread regarding the home searches in Boston, a lot of folks are uniquely sensitive to a security-state running roughshod over the Bill of Rights.

But how do we walk this fine line? If I'm looking for a fire, I'm probably gonna head towards the smoke. There's a fairly easily discernible common thread between the majority of terror plots that have been uncovered here in the United States in the last twenty years. Pretending it isn't there doesn't make it go away and sure as shit doesn't make any of us safer.

From the link,

I've seen Obama's UN ambassador hustle to pass UN Resolution 16/18, an "anti-blasphemy law" pushed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to make criticizing Islam an international crime. So if you harsh the mellow of Shariah fanatics by critiquing their child marriages, honor killings, homosexual hangings, and genocidal plots to wipe out Israel, you're the one who's going to jail.
