I've never attempted to cut foam, but I have read about it:D . If you put the foam in water, then wring it out as much as you can (obviously there will still be a little water), then stick it in the freezer for awhile, it will be MUCH easier to cut clean lines. I've also read many different ways to actually cut the foam, once it's frozen.

I remember reading a whole tutorial with pictures, specifically about cutting foam for gun cases, but I don't remember where. I'll search for it.

when i used to work at malibu boats, they would cut the foam pieces with an electric jig saw with a 6-9" blade. the blade was really thin. they would lube the blade with silicone spray. they also had like a bread knife to cut into center pieces.

i just visit with my foam pieces already marked off and bring a six pack with me. i dont know about using water, it may get moldy.

I just used a good sharp Exacto knife after I traced everything.

Here's my Pelican case for my Sig 556 that I finished recently.

what type of adhesive did you guys use on the foam to keep it from shifting around once it was cut and put back in the case ??

no adhesive used...

the foam is stiff enough to where it won't shift.

Looks great. Can I ask what is the darker outlining around the cut-outs?
