M&P 45 Slide Swap Question

I have several M&P's in 45 and during a recent cleaning began to compare the fullsize and compact slides. Besides the 1/2" in barrel length they seem to match perfectly. My question is can I safely put a fullsize slide on a compact frame? Thanks

I swapped slides on my fullsize and my compact, and they both work fine. The compact/longslide is now my carry pistol, and the now-midsize has become my pin gun.

Thanks guys. Haveing the compact grip with the extra 1/2 of barrel was what I had in mind for a CC gun. Think I will try it out this weekend, thanks again!
