Anyone have the issue of the x300u not fitting the rails on their ar-15's?

No matter what I do this will not go onto the rails of my KAC RAS.

Have you tried both of the attachments? And are you sure your pressing the levers down far enough to slide it on? That's always the hard part with the 2 I have.

Mine goes on after I used a rubber mallet a couple times. Now it slides on and off fairly easily.

I had to put it on and then tighten the screws down.... I just remembered.

The X series sometimes need to have its rail loosen and adjusted for different rail system... My G19 rail is mush looser than my MH rail.

Thanks so much, this worked. I also sanded down the rails some and it slides on and off but it takes some serious pressure to get it to.

Even my original X300 had a hell of a time getting onto my G17 rail when I first bought it. Now it goes on and off with ease.

I run a 300U on a KAC RAS and it's TIGHT.

I guess it's normal. I can smack it on with my hand but I have to pry it off.

I had to loosen and use some mechanical agitation to get my x300u on my SR15 with URX 2 rail.

Ditto. I have three X300U. Two on M&P9, one on a DD Mk18 upper.

Loosen screws, tap with plastic mallet into place, tighten screws.

My X300U mounts easily to my LMT MRP Piston's rail.

Could be that the picatinny rail is out of spec. I've seen some from 'quality' mfgs that were oversized and some accessories wouldn't fit properly. Or maybe the X300U needs some adjusting. My X300U slides onto my MRP easily...haven't even tried it on any others.

How are you digging that BCM comp?

I assume you have the right key insert and rails on the light?

It has exceeded my expectations. Some more pics and video on the custom build forum...

I run x300's on all my rifles. Each one was a bear to get on. Pounded the shit out of them to the point of wondering if I would break them. Anyone had the pleasure of removing one that was diff. to put on?

Yes, the one I have has been installed on multiple rifles (Noveskes, SCARs, DD rails) and sucks going on, even worse going off. On the SCAR I tapped it back off the rear of the side rail it was such a PITA.

Yes.

I have 2 X300 and neither would "fit" on my rails (4 different DD Omega rails) without serious force. I even tried lightly filing the grooves on the X300 with a triangle file to try and "loosen" it up. It didn't work.

This really annoyed me as I want to be able to remove the light when I don't need it or switch between rifles/Glocks as needed. I was pretty aggravated.

Then I switched to the locking bar, and they go on/off fine now and they are easier to attach/remove.

Try switching to the locking bar instead of the pull down. I think the pull down drags on the tops of the rails.

Surefire recommended loosening the screw's 1/4 turn then installing. I had to do this for several X300U for both a Ar and multiple Glocks. Installs and removes easily now.

That was my experience with the U300 as well on my RISII. Worked better with the rail lock than the UP latch system for whatever reason.

Good idea on going off rear side.

Comp is upside down I think.

Yeah, it was a pain in the ass to get my X300U onto any rail at all actually.
Tried it on everything i had, just to check.
Put on the lever locking bar thingy. Didn't do jack.
Had to shave a bit of polymer from the guide rail of the the X300U (MUCH harder than one would think, by the way - modern polymers do not **** around)
That helped a little bit. Still tough.
Slightly loosened the screws holding the guide rails in place. Again, still tight, but manageable with some elbow grease. That puppy isn't going anywhere, that's for sure.

Just checked mine...fits both the Fortis Rev, and PRI gen III, snugly.
It was and still is a much tighter fit to mount onto the rails on my HK45 and Sig 1911 and P220 SAO... It takes some force to remove it from the Sigs....

I run an X300U on the top rail of my NSR and found it very difficult to get on and even harder to get off. What I did was run it up and down the whole length of the rail a few times to sand it down a bit. Like jpmuscle, I found the it worked better with the lock pin.

Basically the same thing in my experience. Fits on my Glock rails the best, but it’s still stubborn. Won’t go on my 1911 to save my life. Put it on the rail and was pushing the back of the gun with the light against a table and couldn’t get it far enough on to make it to the first locking cut of the rail, let alone the third. I could see plastic shavings coming off when I was eventually able to get it back off the 1911 rail. Fits my Glocks easier now and my AR easy enough. I think it just needs worked in… might take a file and shave some more off so it fits the 1911.

Yeah, I didn't mention it, but same thing here, as far as fitting on a Glock universal rail. A bit snug on a Glock, but way more manageable than on a Picatinny.

Got my XT07 now and im loving this light setup, anyone have any tips on how to tie down the pressure pad to the rail?

I have it mounted to the top rail, also are these durable I have read online of the X300 being a poor long rifle light. Here is a picture.

Not an X300U, however I have 3 X300 lights that will only go on my rails with a mallet. 3 different URXIII rails, DD MK18 rail, DD RIS II and RIS II FSP rails and a a KAC RAS.

I've done everything I could in regards to tightening them down on the rails. I went so far as to have the screws in just enough to secure the mount to the light and then monkeyed with the final assembly on the rails. It's a no to all around.

I was thinking about sanding the mount down as another poster mentioned but I didn't want to lose the ability to securely mount them to my Glocks if I have to switch over.
