I know this documentary is a few years old, but its awesomeness cannot be overstated. It chronicles what is, IMO, the apex of American technological prowess.

Discovery's When We Left Earth is an amazing collection of NASA footage and interviews with the men who have truly been there and done that: Glynn Lunny, Neil Armstrong, Jim McDivitt, Scott Carpenter, Bill Anders, Gene Kranz, Jim Lovell, Bruce McCandless, Story Musgrave and so many more......
