Hi guys!

I have a question about a current AR-15 I bought from Walmart last November.

Will the AR-Gold drop in triggers work with the latest Colt product? I know the early models had different pins.

Also, this is a hunting and self defense rifle, I do not want a trigger so light that it poses a risk of accidental discharge. What model would y'all recommend?

Get an ACT.
Go to: ACT (http://www.algdefense.com/)

ALG Defense Combat Trigger - ACT
The ALG Defense ALG Combat Trigger (ACT) is designed for those shooters where tradition, value and regulatory concerns are of primary importance. The pull of the ACT is very similar to a standard mil-spec trigger, however it is sharper and the grittiness of the stock trigger pull has been removed while the traditional reliability of a stock trigger remains. The pull weight is not lower than the M4/M16 minimum weight specification of 5.5lbs.

If in doubt about the pin size just measure them. Not sure about AR Gold but almost all of the trigger smiths build setups for both pin sizes. Picking a trigger is something you should do yourself. For multi-purpose use they all will give up something. For my all purpose rifle I use an SD-E. It is lighter than most would reccomend for a fighting rifle but I don't plan on using it for defense before I am out of pistols and shotguns! GH
