View Full Version : It's Time For Us To Be Heard Again And Let Them Know We Are Paying Attention

Today's article in the New Yorker was rather telling. It would seem, not surprisingly, that some on the left are still "undecided" as to whether our government has reached new heights of corruption, this even when the media themselves have had their trust breached in what they described as an unparalleled manner. So undecided in fact that they even have some derogatory words for the democrats concerned about the current state of affairs. For example, see the excerpt below:

"I hope you had better things to do with your Friday morning that watch the members of the House Ways and Means Committee berating Steven Miller, the acting head of the Internal Revenue Agency, who was recently forced to resign. Even if the unfortunate Miller hadn’t been on the way out the door, the hearing would have largely been a charade—an opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to try and outdo each other in expressing their outrage..."

Now this mindset is particularly troubling. To think that some will go after poth parties for doing what is best for the American people is alarming to say the least. So with that I'd suggest that at this critical and possibly pivotal time we let the media, often not our friend of course, and our state representatives know that we are paying close attention and care about these developments.

The white house press corp in particular have been very aggressive with the administration the past week and this has been fantastic to witness, but obviously we have a little way to go before we reach a critical mass of sorts. Just as we did with the senate over gun control we must now do again, albeit for a different but certainly no less important reason.

The current venues for network feedback allow for relatively brief correspondence, but sometime less is more anyway. Below is simply an example of how brief and to the point your message need be.

For the greater good of our nation and it's future, I emplore those of you at the Times to not turn your heads regarding the current circumstances surrounding the IRS, the AP and also Benghazi. You see ladies and gentlemen too much is at stake here and you have an obligation to report the truth, especially when such extremely serious matters are at hand. We are counting on you to show us that you can be trusted to do what is both right and just when it is needed most and now is indeed that time.

Thank-you,
XYZ

The links below are for news agencies only as each of us has different state representatives, but you get the idea. Please do not be a bystander or naysayer at this time as we simply can't afford it. Take a few minutes to be heard again as before and let them know that this matters to all of us.

If I may I'd like to briefly add that while many here may believe that contacting the media is a waste of time (95% of the time I'd agree), here and now we have a unique window of opportunity. They seem to be divided as to how much or little to cover these recent developments and I'd suggest that a few more calls to action than usual may help tip more of them to our side, at least for the time being.

Either way contacting your representatives is critical. Democrat and Republican alike need to know we care about this. This chance may never come again so let's make the most of it while we can.
