The trial for the first NCO charged in the prostitution ring has begun. Master Sergeant Brad Grimes, a 17-year Army veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, is the first in the chute. He was charged because he refused the Government offer to testify against McQueen (who is still under investigation). He is accused of using the service and adultery. Only time will tell if he gets a fair trial or if he is going to be a sacrificial lamb for the CINC.

Lt. Col Darin Haas' alleged transgressions are small compared to SFC Greg McQueen. He hasn't been charged but this is what they are investigating.

The Army is investigating Sgt. 1st Class Gregory McQueen, a sexual abuse educator at Fort Hood, Texas, for running a small-time prostitution ring and for the sexual assault of another soldier, senior military officials have confirmed.

MSG Grimes was found guilty of conspiring to patronize a prostitute and solicitation to commit adultery. He was sentenced to a reduction in rank and a letter of reprimand. It looks like he was found guilty simply because he knew about the ring and didn't report it. I am leery of military justice since it can be heavy handed and at times unfair. I'm sure that this verdict will receive plenty of scrutiny from civilian lawmakers after the Air Force sex scandals at Lackland.
