Anyone have load data for the Speer 52 gr. HP ? I recently received some and cannot find COAL for the loaded round. I have a rockin load that I use for both the Hornady 55gr. JSP with cannelure and also the 55gr. FMJBT with cannelure that consist of 20.3 gr. of IMR 4198 and a small rifle primer that groups great in these two rounds. Wanted to try the same load. Any info appreciated.

Well try the SAME LOAD!

Wing it on the OAL, but expect it to be shorter than FMJ OAL due to the HP tip of the bullet.

That is kinda what I am planning. I checked the Hogden site above and it gave an OAL of 2.200. which is the same as the Hornady 55gr. SP loading. My FMJ loads usually shoot best with 2.220. The only thing I saw different was the max load of 20.4 gr. of IMR 4198 whereas my Speer manual shows a min. load of 20.0 up to 22.0 but it is an old manual. Speer #10. LOL.

I like the AeroE Accuracy Load using that bullet...has worked well for me.

Win 223 case
Rem 7 1/2 Primer
Sierra 52 gr HPBT
27.0 grs Re-15
OAL 2.250
No crimp.

In an 18" Rock Creek 1 in 8 twist .223 Wylde chambered melonited barrel I have found:

RL 15 at 26.5 grains with 52 Berger match flat based bullets to be beyond my expectations a happy place. I use Federal 205 primers and LC brass mostly.

See attached text file... exported from part of an old project I did with MS Access. COAL for the 52 HP and HP Match are both 2.20"

Data is from Speer #13, do not have a copy of 14 yet.
