View Full Version : Mounts for 1-6 Mark 6 on an AR

I have 1-6 Mark 6 that I am trying to find the best method to mount on an AR. So far I tried the following mounts:
1. Bobro dual lever 34mm - at 1.63" it puts the scope too high to use with a standard stock. I had to get a Larue RISR in order to be able to obtain a cheek weld. However, this combination works, and I am able to obtain cheek weld from standing/prone.
2. Badger 1.125" 34mm rings - too low. I have to "push" my cheek into the stock.
I am curious what mounts people are using with the scope, and how do they "feel", especially since you need to get a proper eye position for the illumination.

The Larue LT104 SPR 1.5 is...1.5" over the rail.

Larue also has rings which are 1.375" and 1.28" over the rail.

Anything less than 1.5" and maybe on very limited circumstance/combo 1.375", you're going to have issues mounting a BUIS if its done in the standard way.

Offsets, are another story.

I used the American Defense AD-Recon. I believe it is 1.5''

bp, my plan is to go with Dueck offset BUIS, so minimum is not a concern.
HK, are you able to get a concistent cheek weld with the ADM mount? With the Bobro, I had to have a "chin" weld in order to be able to see through the scope. I am considering getting Leupold IMS MK 6 to try.

I have grown to be very find of the KAC 34mm mount.
Gives a 2.6" LOS over bore.
Not QD, but going with offsets removes the issue.

+1. (The one on the right, although I've yet to add offset sights).

I am looking for a 34mm mount as well, does KAC comes in 2 different style?

I picked up the Leupold Mark 6 IMS mount which some say is "similar" to the KAC mount, the price was right as well. YMMV

In the end I went with the Badger 1.49 one piece mount. I am very happy with the setup as it is the lightest of Bobro and IMS. It provides enough cantilever and simple to use.
The Bobro while nice, is over twice as heavy as Badger and has huge rings that cover a large part of turrets.

3 different KAC 34mm models. At least 1 of the 3 comes in black or taupe.

I know the color wise, is the 2 black shares the same part number? some sites shows 25284 pic look exactly like the 30mm version. Meanwhile, I saw KAC website shows the 34mm has white KAC markings on the right side.

The part numbers for the KAC 34mm:

PN 30025
PN 30194
PN 25284

KAC mount pictured in this thread is 30194. Purchased thru King Optics USA. I think he has all 3 on his site and so does Operation Parts (I think).

What kind of eye relief does the Mark 6 have? Trying to decide if I need an extended eye relief mount or just a standard mount.

^This is your answer. No QD needed due to the off-set irons. If I could go back I would ditch my QD mount for a non-QD KAC mount.

I would also consider the Warne "Ramp" mount.

For your uses, the IMS would work fine - mine is still just lying around unused.
I went with the LT-135 (at 2.01" - way up there) to clear IR Lasers mounted in front of the scope mount and under the front of the scope.

I have a Mark 6 3-18 in an ADM Recon on my 18" with a CTR stock. It is the perfect height for the Mark 6.
