For years I have read about the NY Trigger Spring and never realized it was plastic. Purchased a Gen 2 G21 LEO turn-in and when I did a complete disassemble, I noticed two things:

1. no metal trigger spring

2. a strange piece of plastic fell out of the "trigger mechanism housing"

Performed a google search on "glock 21 parts list" and presto there is a picture of the plastic whatever sitting on my workbench. Now I know what the NY Trigger Spring looks like. :)

Yeah they certainly are strange little components.

There still should be a small metal spring within the plastic "L" shape of the NY one.

Put on my reading glasses and big as shit there is one there. :)

What is the difference between:

NY Trigger Spring

NY Trigger Spring Plus

The "NY Trigger Spring Plus", aka NY2, is rated at 12ish pounds versus the NY1 at 8ish. I have the NY1 in my Glock 19 and I really like the reset.

Above poster is correct.
NY1 is +/-8#
NY2 is +/-12#

The trigger spring that you found, with the leaf-style spring partially embedded, is the older model of the NY spring assemblies.

We're mandated to have either a NY1 in our guns, or the standard spring with the "+" connector. The one good thing I will say for the NY springs is that the trigger reset is very positive.

The older black NY springs (no coil) are actually in demand in some circles. They soften up to a little less than the 8# pull they start with, and are a great pairing with the (-) connector.

I traded for a Glock once that had some kind of odd spring system. It had an orange plastic device and some kind of spring that gave the gun about a 5# trigger pull but it was very crisp. I sole the gun and now want to set one o=up like this one but I don't know what parts I need. Can anyone help?

Really? I'd like to know where. I though those little bastards out all the time... :D

This NY1 (olive) and a OEM 3.5 connector. Best Glock trigger set-up.

I keep hearing that. I think it sucks.

I bought 3 or 4 "-" Glock connectors and spent the time to try them all out with the NY connector. I didn't do any polishing, just a pure parts swap.

There were differences between the Glock connectors for sure and the result was a trigger that I am very happy with. I like the combo a lot.

Recently I put one of those connectors in a Gen4 G19 (kept standard trigger spring) and I hate it for some reason. I need to try another one of my connectors out.

Agreed.

I've never seen a black (spring-less) NY connector, learn something new everyday.

It works really well if you take the time to Dremel polish the contact points on the connector and trigger mechanism. I think a well know Instructor sells a similar trigger system

I bought a NY1 spring and connector from a member on here a while back and put about 400-500s round through it before I sold my G23 to my brother. I quite enjoyed it over the OEM set up. I want another NY1 set up when I can find a damn G19. That and swap out the ridged trigger with a full size smooth one. I hated those ridges. Irritated the hell out of me.
