View Full Version : G&R Tactical VSM Basic Rifle Level 2 (Ohio) June 29 2013

Where: Tusco Rifle club (Founders Range)
Time: 0900-1700
Cost: $150 per Student (Cash only please)
Ammo: 200-300rds for AR & 50-100rds for Pistol
Gear:
Eye Protection
Hearing Protection (electronic ears are best)
One mag pouches for pistol
Two mag pouches for AR
Holster for pistol
3 mags (minimum PER weapon)
Water
Lunch
Appropriate gear for the weather (rain jacket, etc.)
Sling for your AR
This is a heavy moving and shooting, transition to pistol, offhand shooting & baricade class where we spend a lot of time working on the fundamentals of shooting on the move and from behind cover.
You must have attended our Level 1 VSM Basic Carbine class OR equiv. class from another instructor to attend.
This class is designed to be a small (12-14) students so it will fill up fast! Please RSVP your place in line ASAP by sending an e-mail to: sales@grtactical.com
VSM certificates of completion will be given out at the end of the class.

I think some cbus peoples are coming down on Sunday to shoot with us.

I havent touched it yet lol. Thankfully she was unloaded. Still confused by it because I have ran in it before and never has it moved lol. First time was all on me for not locking the latch lol.
I'm going to have to do some prolific shooting at this class to redeem myself :neo:

Great class today. Weather held up nicely. Good lessons learned; some re-drilled into my head :D. Ah my friend the old side step.
I'm glad I didn't screw the pooch when I shot left hand bladed to the target. Shows it works for me. I hate side stepping.
I'm glad I don't suck with a pistol.

Had a good time. Man those transition to the pistol were killing my shot I just couldn't get the trigger pull from rifle to the pistol correct. Looking back I probably should have been doing some dry fire with the pistol during breaks.
Glad I got my PC to a better state also, now I've got to tape it up to make sure it doesn't move.
Good class filled with a lot of quality students! What more could an instructor ask for???

Grant, you should think about integrating one drill where we have to run it irons only. It would show 1) who has taken the time to sight their irons 2) optics fail, in case of emergency you might have to improvise. Just a thought.

This is a good idea and one that I have personally had to do in advanced carbine class.
Maybe in the future classes we do outside of the VSM program.

Wouldn't you just throw your carbine at the enemy, transition, and fire over your shoulder as you run backwards to get your back up carbine?? Is that proper procedure??
