View Full Version : Rail Cover Question regarding a certain color

Long story short, my lower is coated with a black ceramic powder coat and it is obviously blacker than anodizing. My BCM upper which is just anodized is a lighter shade (almost a dark grey) compared to the lower.

I thought grey rail panels would look cool but I'm having a hard time finding rail covers in grey.

I found some Magpul XTM Grey covers on Deal Extreme but it says they are for Airsoft. I'm sure being how they are only pieces of plastic, it doesn't matter what they are marketed for but I was under the impression Magpul hasn't released their grey color yet. Does anyone know if these covers are truly grey or if they are the Foliage color and Deal Extreme is just calling them grey. http://dx.com/p/wa-10-xtm-20mm-rail-cover-set-dark-grey-16-pcs-164643

Lastly, does anyone know of any other manufactures offering Grey rail covers?

Those are Chinese knockoffs of Magpul XTM panels. Most manufacturers make panels in black, OD, foliage green, and FDE. Get a can of Krylon.

to the OP: Are you serious? They are rail covers to put on a rifle. It is not a barbie doll.

What color shirt/shoes will you be wearing when you shoot the majority of the time? That grey is gonna be tough to match up.

Where to even start with this?

Ceramic coated lower? Worried about a color mismatch?

ARFcom need this guy as a life member.

Look up Larue UDE (Urban Dark Earth). It's kinda light grey, but might work for you...and there's always krylon.

Your barrel doesn't match your rail!

Are you guys serious? I don't see all of you complaining every time Stickman posts a rifle that has matching colors or a checkered rail cover pattern on the rail guard. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to match colors up. I guess some people are too elite for it.

Obscenejester,

This site stays more in the function lane vs the form lane. Aesthetic trinkets are not well thought of here and it is one of the things the forum is trying to maintain as a status quo. That is a good thing. Not busting your balls bud, promise.

With that said the attitude in this thread is ridiculous. How about a little guidance instead of smart alec comments.

welcome to the site of function over form.

I want to develop some piece of gear that absolutely rocks but my logo will be a giant cock and balls plastered right on it for the whole world to see. Some people will be turned off by the logo and wont run the gear while others wont care because the stuff works so well.

Use duracoat or cerakote.

I have a OD green stock, and a Foliage green BCM mod 1 grip on my rifle. I try not to worry about the killer color clash....
