View Full Version : AA 2230-C Data Powder
I find myself in possession of a few pounds of AA 2230-C Data Powder, bought back when things were right in the world. it was cheap and it was plentiful so I bought it but continued to load using my favorites.
now things are not that way so I'm looking for recipes for this powder. sources say it has burn rate similar to 2460 but some old articles claim it's closer to 1680.
does anyone have a load with this powder under 55 and 62 grain bullets?..
I loaded AA 2230 briefly... but don't know what the "C" designation means.
I have Accurate's data sheet at the house though.
Here is something from Accurate:

I might have my numbers mixed up. I may have had 2300?
I have used 2230 and 2460. In 16" semi autos and I don't believe you are going to see any difference. I think with a bolt action you may be able to get a little more velocity with the 2460 becuase you can use slightly more powder and not have pressure issues. With a long barrel semi auto you may get slightly more velocity as well for the same reason. My primary bullet is the 55 and 60 grain V-Max's. .kwg
