Some will like it, some will hate it. I love it. I finally pulled the trigger. I was originally interested in attempting a pattern such as Damato's starburst, but think I might try that next.
My inspiration for this came from JFE's facebook pictures. I am a beast for function over form. This gun grips me better than any non 1911 I've ever held (and even a few of those - except mine :D )
Gen 3:
-Removed finger grooves
-Sanded down factory stipple to make one smooth grip all the way around.
-Relieved grip near beavertail for higher, deeper grip. cut to fit my grip.
-Undercut trigger guard. cut to fit my grip.
-Used a nickel (about the size of my thumb) to trace and cut out the mag cuts. Makes a huge difference when using the 15 rounders.

I'm not quite finished. I need to under cut the trigger guard a little more, then sand and buff that area as well as the beaver tail area.

That is really a unique pattern that you did. I like it. How does it feel?

Thank you for the compliments. I feels great. I really really does. I've never had a better purchase on a polymer framed gun. I saw a similar style a long time ago when I first started researching stippling, but I can't recall where. Maybe the Glock forum? Then, a about a month ago, I saw some pictures of a similar/same type pattern on Joint Force Enterprises Facebook page. As I said originally, I give them the credit for the idea. I really liked the idea because it looked simple to do (which it was) and very effective.

I like it, but I would like more details on the tools you used?

Nice and uniform great job! Also good to see that your glock brushes its teeth.

Thanks. I used the Weller hobby kit. For the bulk of it, I used the regular wide / flat tip first. I then used the smaller spade looking tip, which is really flat. I used that tip for under the trigger guard, and indexing points on the sides of the frame.

:D Funny story about how the brush came to the bench for this. I used a green scrubby and acetone to get the silver sharpie off the frame after most of the stippling. The stippling is so grippy, it just ate the green scrubby and it took the tooth brush to get it all out.
