Anyone using one? I am aware that it's for pistol only, I shoot 45acp and 9mm. Seems like a good value, though I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks

I had one for a few years.
Decided I needed to load rifle and got a 550

I wish I hadn't sold the square deal b;
It is good at what it does.

I've been running one for 13 years now in .45ACP, and I have had nothing but good results with the press and with Dillon support. A few years ago the primer feed mechanism got a little out of adjustment and they walked me through getting it squared away on the phone. I don't know how many rounds I have loaded on it, but before I moved to South Dakota I emptied out an old coffee can that was half full of spent primers that came out of that press.

If I had the bench space I would add another one, probably more than one to be honest.

I started using a Square Deal B in 1988. I bought a RL550B about 15 years ago when I started reloading rifle ammunition. I keep the Square Deal B set up to reload the caliber of handgun cartridges I shoot the most. It is a very good reloader for handgun rounds and I highly recommend it if you cannot afford a RL550B yet.

Actually, I'm mulling over Square Deal B vs 650, as I prefer the auto index. At present, I only shoot 1k or so 5.56 a year reloading for that is a less of a priority.

Thanks

If I did not have so much time and money invested in my RL550B, I would buy a RL650.

I just went through with a big buy from Brian Enos (great Dillion guy) and I tell you guys that setting up a XL650 with all the bells and whistles required to crank out 9mm and .223 fast is very expensive. It was almost 2k but I have never reloaded before so I had to buy everything to start.

Dillion is 5-6 weeks out on 650's and .223 dies.

I just read an article that suggests if loading multiple calibers with a case feeder (650) That the LnL AP offers significant savings.

I always thought new chainsaw decisions were the worst, this takes the cake!

Thanks to all, again.

Something I have been told by many reloaders... Go Dillion and cry once but you will never regret the decision.

For progressives that is the truth.

If you want a single stage it is hard to beat RCBS, and if you want a turret press the best on the market is the Redding T7 by a mile.

I have the one Dillon Square Deal B, and a Redding T7. I want to add another Dillon for .223/5.56mm, and maybe another Square Deal.

I have a 650 and couldn't be happier with it. I reloaded over 20k rounds last year with it and on pace to do the same this year. Their service is great had them rebuild and tune it just a few weeks ago for free.

I looked at rage Square Deal & 550B. I ultimately went with the 550B so I could do both--it's a handy option.

What was their turn around time on a tune up? Just curious since my Square Deal B could probably use one.

Good to know they offer that service, now I want a 650 even more.

YOU sir are awesome. You will spend so much-less time reloading with the full setup. Which Bullet feeder?

My left hand... Haha. Billet feeder is another big chunk of change. I won't be loading enough to justify buying one if those (for now). Honestly I probably will not load enough to justify the huge cost if the 650 compared to the 550 but I wanted auto indexing.

I am also going the stainless steel media tumbling method so I wanted to be able to have tool heads set up just for depriming. It all sounds good in my head and should work out but need to get the press in to see what's gonna work and what's not.

I went with a Dillon 550b. I have only loaded .45 acp with it so far. Thinking about using the 550b for rifle and maybe another 550b or SDB for pistol. I am glad I went with Dillon, great product.

Have had a Dillon 550B for over 20 years and love it. Set up to load 8 calibers and it cranks out beautiful ammo. I originally got it because of its versatility and the ability to use std loading dies (which I already had).

However, a few months ago, I found a used SDB locally for a very good price. I found a place for it on the bench and have decided to devote it to handgun calibers that use small pistol primers. I must say, it's a lot of fun to use!

Having a Dillon 550 B since 1991 And having loaded a 9mm, 38 / 357 , 40 S@W. 45 acp, 223, 308, 30-06, 300 Weatherby mag and 338 Lapua. I would tend to agree.

I started loading with 2 in 9mm and .45ACP then I consolidated to all 9mm sold both and got a case fed XL650 as my monthly needs were 2-2.5K a month plus I started loading rifle.

They are good machines for what they are... I could consistently load 300-400 an hour. I wish i kept the .45 ACP one now. I'm planning shooting a little heavy metal 3 gun soon.

I don't see much press on the 550 (not the B). Seems like a great kit to start with since you can add on as your needs incease to justify all the bells that come on the 550B. Im considering one now.

You'll spend over $100 more upgrading the 550 basic loader than if you just get the 550B. Not to mention that the 550B comes already set up with one caliber conversion. Buy once, cry once.
