Have been lurking here for a little bit now. Thought i would throw a pic of my stick up here. This is only my second AR. First one was a Remington R-15 i recieved in trade. I sold it a started accumulating parts for this. I have had this together for about 2 years now.

I really didnt know what i wanted to build other than i want a 20" barrel. I have made a couple of changes and I am happy with it. Next build will be..... well something under 12lbs:)

Sometime last year....

The lower after highlighting....

It is built with a Wilson 20" Wylde 1:8 bull bbl, Young NM chrome bcg, mil-spec trigger with some enhancements to make it work like a trigger should and a self built lower. It weighs a ton, but man it sure can shoot the lights out on groundhogs!

Next build was an HBar (something you can actually carry around... lol), then a pistol and soon to be a 308 rifle and then a 300AAC pistol (that 7" 556 pistol is a serious flamethrower!)

What did you build the rifle to do and why did you pick the parts you did? How does it shoot?

I didnt build the gun for any single purpose. Was "trying" to build something that could do a little of everything with. (self defense, zombies, small game, steel targets, ect..) Other than being retarded heavy and long, i like it.

I went with the seekins upper/lower/handgaurd mostly on looks. Figured if i was going to build it, i better like how it looked. Also the seekins has ambi bolt release.

I had not done a lot of research before i built this. But was told I would be happy with a Shilen barrel. So far, it still out shoots me.

Most of the parts were purchased at Raineer Arms. Everything minus seekins and the barrel. They are not to far from me. It was really nice to go and play with tons of differnt parts. And they were super cool to work with.

Went with the trigger because i prefer single stage. And they had most all of the Giesellee tiggers in lowers to play with. 3gun was my favorite.

BCG, well, it was the only one RA had at the time. It does clean up nice, and after a whopping 500 rds, has zero wear marks on it.

I switched to the A2 cause i like a rigid stock.

I only have 500 or so rounds through it so far and it shoots great. Granted, i have only shot a couple AR's.

In a small town its hard to find 20 differnt AR's to shoot to see what you do or dont like. Most of my choices were "well why not try this?"

Nice looking first build. I must say, my first one looked like junk.
