Hey Guys,

I just saw this really interested selection of photos of some really exotic bullets and I figured I would share it with you all:

Anyone know what the polymer bullet is all about, or some of the more interesting and exotic among this group?

I could be wrong but it looks like German DAG training ammo that is used with a training bolt.

Yea that looks like it.

What about the polymer case with the wadcutter and just a primer?

Help a noob with labeling?

The label says;

500 Rounds, Training

7,62x51 (DM18AB1)- I believe that is the round nomenclature or identifier.

The number at the bottom is the lot number/manufacturer.

DAG- Dynamit Nobel-AG in Troisdorf, Germany

96- most likely year of production

G- most likely the month (July)

The remaining numbers are lot sequence numbers. The bolt is a lightened and modified one for the G3 assault rifle. That ammo will not function normally in most semi auto weapons.

And IG are they capable of being shot at someone in scenario environments, or how are they used in a training application?

Thanks for your info.

I suppose like any projectile they can jack you up. When we trained with the German Army they were used for 25M death and close range practice as I recall.

Some of those look like multiple warhead ICBMs lol

Guy on another forum is selling a bunch of this stuff for $10/50 round box lol. Says it ran in a Ruger GSR out to about 100yards lol. Seems like it could be fun.

How does this compar to Simunition?

That stuff's not to be used like sims rounds. It's got more than enough juice to be dangerous up close.

This stuff will poke a hole or a least cause a injury to some one out to 50 meters but accuracy really falls off past that. It also puts a coating on the inside of your barrel but its not to hard to remove.

I have 500rds of this stuff I picked up real cheap just to play with for close range paper punching with the kids.

Last time I checked, Dan's Ammo had a bunch of this stuff with the lightened G3 bolts to use it for sale. Under $300 for the bolt and 1000rds of the stuff.

(No affiliation, just happened to notice it while shopping)

What are the first three rounds?

The middle one looks like some sort of flechette and the one on the right looks like it utilizes multiple projectiles. Are they leftovers from Project SALVO?

And in that first picture, do those case walls on that flechette look extremely thin or it is just me

Iraqgunz is correct.

It is a short range training round, used for short range live fire, close quarter drills as well as IA drills.

The ammo is cheap, although it requires a lightened BCG.

The main advantage is that you do not, at least for us, require a proper range to use this when shooting, as the safety template is not as strict as live rounds. This is due to the fact that the riccochet tendency is very low.

You can set up a course of fire, and as long as no one can accidentally walk into the danger zone, you can blast away, 360 degrees.
