Just saw this linked to a blog...

Anyone heard about this or know who is organizing it?

Not a huge fan of the idea, but I understand it. We, as gun guys, are not law breakers- leave that to the smelly hippy guys.

I'd rather see the sheriffs declare their counties 'Patriot" or "Minutemen' counties that, like the amnesty cities from immigration, will not enforce the bad laws.

I attended the event. Couldn't stay long as I had a meeting with a client right around the same time.

Cops & media showed up, but no one was arrested or questioned whilst I was there.

Many folks- including me; brought (30) and (40) round magazines along (Illegal in Denver, as 21 or under capacity is the limit in Denver). Figured why not break two stupid laws instead of just the one.

I traded mag for mag to one of my buds who showed up and had to leave shortly thereafter.

There was a circle of people just exchanging magazines.

I had a (30) round "FREE COLORADO" Pmag hanging on a string around my neck. A dude offered me $50.00 bucks for it! I declined.

Not much to see- just other people trading magzines back and forth talking about how stupid the laws are and how disgusted we are with the Colorado legislature and Mayor Bloomberg.

I asked a few LEOs what they thought and 3 out of 4 of them hinted at the fact that the new laws are pretty useless and they were glad people were disobeying- without directly stating such. The 4th wouldn't say much; just hello and declined to discuss the politics of it with me.

Lots of guys with beards and a few woman- sans beards of course :p.

Here is a link to a story about the event from the only media outlet I can find covering it (Google search); channel 7 I think:

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/gun-magazine-swap-at-colorado-state-capitol-to-protest-new-gun-laws-limiting-ammunition-magazines

Only about 50-75 people were there trading magazines practicing civil disobedience from what I could tell. I didn't take a head count, but it appeard to be under a hundred I would guess.

I was only there from about 11:45 -to- 12:25 though...

Anyone else make it out there?
