The AK rob_s put together inspired me to make some changes.

UltiMAK optic mount and J-Tac47 compensator installed

SAW grip and CTR installed

The lower hand guard is on the way from UltiMAK and I'm shopping for a Micro T-1.
I have a TLR-1, but I'm thinking the Surefire Scout light with a TangoDown VFG may be more practical.

I'll post more pictures and a range report when the conversion is complete.

Interesting. I am sure these changes will probably improve the effectiveness of the weapon, though perhaps at the expense of the traditionalists. I am eager to see the results.

If that is the Tapco(plastic) Pseudo buffer tube you will probably want to get the much stronger Vltor one if that isnt going to be a range gun.

...you will probably want to get the much stronger Vltor one...

I appreciate the suggestions and I now have questions:

Do you have additional information? Web link?
Do any M4Carbine members have one of these?
Will the LMT SOPMOD fit on the tube?

UPDATE:

I have confirmed that any mil spec butt stock (SOPMOD included) will fit this Vltor extension tube.

Thanks:)

I personally like the folding Rommy wire stocks they are about 50 bucks and will drop right in. They fold giving you a much shorter weapon than the collapsable stock and you can shoot with them folded.

Folders don't work for me, fixed and collapsible stocks work best for me.

Romy folders sort of suck since there is no cheek weld possible with them.

Very true, I paracord them to help out. My prefered folder like most who use them is the K-Var one.

I had a Sully/ACE folder on an M14 MCS stock.
It locked up solid and had an excellent cheek rest, but it was also a very heavy addition to a heavy M14.

My other AK is an under folder :D

You gotta like that RE better than the plastic Tapco one. The swivel adapter is a plus.

That is the standard length (9 & 5/8") ACR2-SS (http://www.ultimak.com/ACR2.htm).

Thanks for letting me know. Do you have any more pics?

Given the essential demise of the Masada, I am going to build my own AK "ACR" :D I think the Ultimak will play a central role in it.
