View Full Version : Quick-access safes that can't be easily broken into?

I've been giving some thought about getting a small safe for a handgun, like a GunVault or similar. I know that GunVaults specifically (or at least previous models of them) are fairly easy to get into with nothing more than a screwdriver. With little ones around the house, I want something that is secure enough to keep mischievous kids and individuals out of it. It doesn't have to be bomb or even crowbar-proof, just secure enough to withstand someone who doesn't have proper tools to access it, if that makes sense.

Any suggestions?

I have a couple GunVault handgun size safes around the house.
Will they aren't at all bomb-proof, and a thick screw driver could get into it, it takes a decent amount of prying to get in. I've done it myself. The purpose of these is not to absolutely secure the firearm against any attempt at theft but instead to merely keep it locked up and not in plain sight (vs just laying on or in a night stand) of irresponsible kids.
They work, and work great too.

Check out the Barska biometric line. Read the reviews on Amazon.
