The problem is our legal system, where it is believed across the board that the rape or sexual assault of a child that does not result in death does not warrant death for the perpetrator. If you paid attention to the article, the guy was already a "convicted pedophile" loose on the street.

While the mother was not a model parent, perhaps the poor child's fate could have been avoided had she not met that man.

I am still for one large prison in the US for crimes like this and run them like South American prisons where the prisoners can do what they want let them have knives and such and just guard the outside to the hilt so nobody gets out
let them self regulate there population etc.. use them for medical testing and so on

I think that poor kid was doomed from the moment of conception. Savage as her death was, perhaps she was spared a decade and a half of abuse and growing up accepting her circumstances as normal.

When your biological parent offers you up for sexual abuse at 4 months old I don't think it ever gets better from there. I also don't think we can place the blame solely on the POS rapist. She found and chose him for a reason, they are compatible.

Not to mention the "Not my baby, he ain't bad...he just needs help" syndrome.

The reality is we all carry in our genes to some extent or another a capacity for "really bad shit." Granted some of that capacity for "really bad shit" has allowed us to survive as a species and permitted out bloodlines to survive when "really bad shit" was the order of the day.

Now most of us are evolved enough to channel that stuff in the proper direction and can override actions or impulses we find abhorrent or barbaric, sometimes to the extent that the absolute worse capacity of our nature lies dormant.

But on the other end of that spectrum are individuals such as this who not only cannot control their excessively sadistic urges but are actually driven and defined by them as a primary characteristic of who they are. It isn't a "lifestyle choice" and we as a species would be a lot better off without them.

The problem is the solution to that problem comes with a full set of related problems as well. While we'd love to see a common sense solution to getting rid of these individuals in a efficient and expedient manner the government would of course find a way to **** it all up.

This is why you have sex offenders such as this guy on the same watch list as somebody who got caught taking a piss in public.
