So saw this recently.http://www.weaponsworld.com/liberty-usm4-civil-defense-9mm-p-50-grain-hollow-point-ammo-20-round-box.html
50gr at 2000 fps. Just curious if anyone has any insight into the round. What application would such a light round at fast speeds be good for?

This would probably go better in the ammo sub-forum. I am not 100% sure but I keep thinking someone did test on these and they were garbage, I'll try to find the link. The description on that link is throughing up all kinds of red flags on the BS meter aswell. "super secret design"

Looks good on paper, bad in practice. The caliber is too large and mass too little to benefit from the velocity.

Yea not really any good. Typical "boutique" ammo.

Here is the link to tnoutdoors test. He is a great guy to spend time doing these tests. I have sent him ammo before.

Rgr, Thanks for the feedback gents. I kinda the figured the round was some sorta bullcrap wonder ammo, just wondering if there was any application at ALL that it would be good for.
Thanks!

The one thing that gives me pause is pain. I wonder if the rapid energy dump and nature of the wound would send a more clear or urgent message to the brain that someone had been shot.

Then again, standard stuff is still better. You can't bank on the best case scenario.

I guess some people viewed the test results different than I did. I also watched video of it being tested on meat, bone, and drywall. This ammo is what I now carry in my Sig P938.

Some people know how to interpret gel tests. Some do not.

Some people know that shooting meat and bone is a marketing gimmick. Some prove PT Barnum correctly.

Its your choice to make. I will say yours is a poor choice, and you have been suckered.
