Glock Gen 4 question

How long has Glock been producing the Gen. 4 pistol? Does the dual recoil system aid in muzzle flip in the G 22 compared to a Gen 3?

Give or take, early 2010, the Gen4 series was introduced at SHOT.

YMMV, but in my opinion, and dealing only with the G23 in Gen3 and Gen4 versions, muzzle flip is marginally reduced with the new dual recoil spring system.
My agency recently transitioned from Gen2/3 and a few Gen4 G19 and G26 to the Gen4 G23 and G27 and many of our officers find the recoil manageable, but very annoying in comparison to the 9mm versions.
