I was wondering if there were any aluminum rail sections that have the Magpul rail spacing of 1.2 " center to center .I am looking for something with a lower profile than the polymer rails I currently have .

I put magpul rails on a troy tube to keep weight down and i would venture to guess the troy would fit a moe h/g. i cant measure any right now but the magpul h/g has slots not holes iirc so they should work but personally i'd keep the magpul for weights sake and mounting aluminum to poly still wony much if any stronger. ymmv.

Just curious what are you using these attach?

My Magpul rail is only 15 thousands higher than my Troy rail. What are you trying to do that the thickness of 8 or 10 pieces of paper matters? GH

I have a Barnes Precision Extreme Ultralight rail. I have a couple of the poly rail sections from Magpul but with the AFG and the rail sections it makes gripping the hand guard uncomfortable.

Why would you use an ultra bulky AFG on a slim HG? Kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? GH

It does . Any suggestions on how not to scorch my hand. Even wearing gloves doesn't help much. And I draw the line at wearing those silicone oven mitts when I go shooting .

Sounds like you may need some sort of rail panels.

If your hand is that sensitive to the heat look at getting a vertical fore grip or slowing down your rate of fire. GH
