Is there a Lower Parts Kit that is better quality than most others? I have bought 5 different ones and they all appear to be the same, but just a different company name on them? Does Wilson Combat or Les Baur make a better one?

Use the search button, this has been covered ad nauseum. Short answer: yes there are differences.

I don't think Wilson Combat or Les baer sell parts kits. The best would probably be to buy Colt from Specialized Armament or Brownells but they're expensive. Most people have had good luck with DD, BCM etc. Another popular approach is to get a kit with everything but the fire control group and add a Geiselle trigger of some flavor.

The answer to your first question is Yes. Colt makes the best LPKs. They make each part according to the TDP which is their specs. Even the detents and springs have specs. You may have 5 different parts sets that look all the same but they are not made of the same materials nor are they equal in their dimensions etc. Parts are not parts.

Just recognize that "best" may not translate to "smoothest", etc. It's all tradeoffs. But as mentioned, only Colt and a few subs are building to the TDP. Nuances, but I found that getting top tier did not really cost that much more if you shop.

My read: Start with Colt, (or DD, LMT, etc) and then optimize from there with aftermarket if needed to get the trigger weight/style you want/need.

When he has them in stock, the LPKs from Grant at G&R Tactical are great, and you can choose your FCG and many other options.

Just FYI, Les Baer are not thought of very highly with regards to their ARs. For example:

As far as I know, Grant has sworn off of selling LPKs to general public, they only go as part of the assembled lowers he sells.
