I looked over the LT Stealth Billet uppers on the LT site tonight, and I have a couple questions.

1. Has anyone else noticed that the LT Stealth Billet upper looks more like a forged upper than the other angular looking VLTOR upper (or even the POF lower, which also has the "angular" look) ? Is this something you guys have noticed? I'm just wondering if this is just bad pics I've seen, OR if this is indeed the case?

2. Why does the LT "A3" Stealth Billet upper apparently NOT have M4 feedramps? Their site directly states that the Stealth billet upper is in "A3" configuration, which means "NO M4 Feedramps". Why would LT not put M4 feedramps in their flagship upper?

3. POF Billet Lowers. There is a Gen I, II, and III. Is the below info correct, in determining the differences?

a. Gen I is a standard billet lower

b. Gen II simply has an integral oversized "winter" trigger guard.

c. Gen III has integral trigger guard AND ambi safety/bolt release? (or is it ambi mag release?) Excuse the ignorance, I've never really held interest in the whole "ambi" thing.
Is this the ONLY, and determining factors between the three Generations of POF Lowers?

Thanks guys.

1. yes, that's the case. all corners are rounded - it's a beautiful piece of machining and the finish feels silky smooth. according to LaRue, they didn't want to make it look all that different from a regular standard forged receiver, so at first glance, no one would notice the difference or make it stand out (hence the 'stealth' name).
i've lots of pics on my site here:

2. the original intent of the stealth was to produce a straight, squared-up, stiff receiver for precision builds. mark felt that M4 feedramps were only needed on full-auto guns, and that defeated the purpose of using a stealth upper. many 'precision' barrels at that time still were without M4 feedramps. however, many just like the idea that they've got a damn good receiver even if they're going to use it on an SBR or full auto gun, and M4 feedramps are more common across the board now, so mark made stealth receivers with M4 feedramps available through their dealers. i'm not sure what the current policy is.

Thanks for the info MM! I also was really wanting to see more pics, as the LT site has only ONE good up close pic. SO, thanks!

If the M4 feed ramps are important to you you can get the LT Stealth through Denny at Global Tactical (http://global-tactical.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=408), or at Bravo Company (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/LaRue-Tactical-STEALTH-Upper-Receiver-LT007-p/larue%20tactical%20lt-007%20m4.htm). Denny feels the feedramps are a must if you're building a 6.8, that's why he asked Mark to make a version of the Stealth with M4 cuts.
