Got done shooting my suppressed 10.5" today and went to take the can off. Noticed the Brakeout was turning too. Shit. Guess I did a crappy job of applying the rockset or didnt have everything super clean, not sure. Have about 1500 rounds through the setup.

So, I obviously need to re-rockset the mount on, not a big deal.

What is the best way to clean the old rockset off the threads of the barrel and mount? Chemical? Dremel wire wheel? Water(which is what breaks down Rockset)?

Get a bronze brush and scrub the threads. Then hit it with some brake cleaner.

I just happen to have both of those. I wasnt sure if there was an easier way that just brute force and then de-grease.

If you have access to a 1/2 x 28 Die you can also run it over the threads.. Should clean it right up.
