View Full Version : Any shops in eastern VA. have good deals on ARs?
The few shops listed in the yellow pages in my area have ridiculous prices on their ARs.
Anyone in eastern. VA. know of a shop that doesn't try to make their months profit off one rifle?
TIA!

Where in E. VA?
DC, Richmond, VA Beach?
From the Peninsula to Richmond.
Why not purchase via the internet and just transfer to a local FFL dealer? http://www.Gunbroker.com and http://www.GandRTactical.com are both good places to start.
G and R Tactical just started carrying Bushmasters and Grant ensures they are GTG before selling. He also carries LMT if you're looking for higher quality/hard use AR.
I would do the transfer as well. That way you aren't oversold or sold an Olympic. Forget finding one at a show or looking in the Trading Post as they are trying to get their money out of it after being ripped off.

....near Richmond is the shop I generally frequent. Tim (Templar) used to work there actually.......They had a Colt or two on the rack last time I was in there. Didn't see any prices though....
Another vote for doing a transfer. You will likely come out ahead even after shipping and transfer fees, not to mention getting a better product if you are uncertain about what you want exactly.
Thanks for the replies.
I was trying to give the local guy my $$$ but I don't want to just get ripped off in the process.
Can anyone recommend some good online deals on Stag 2T, RRA or S&W( MP15 Tactical )?
I purchased a Stag Model 2 last year for $775 delivered from a dealer advertising on GT. I can't remember who it was and cannot do a search back far enough to find him. The MSRP hasn't increased since then but now the least expensive ( that I can find ) is $875 delivered for the 2 and $1050 for the 2T ( the one I want ).
TIA!!

Both DeGoff's in Mechanicsville and Greentop's in Ashland carry the S&W M&P's.
DeGoff's had a couple Colt 6520's and 6721's the last time I was there, and they usually try to keep 6920's in stock when they can.

Thanks, I'll give them a call.
Don't forget the S&W $100 rebate (http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomContentDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=11101&content=49802§ionId=10002) on ARs through April 30. DeGoff's had the M&P 15T for $1399 last I saw.
Stonewall arms in Winchester does have a decent selection of well priced ar's.
Most AR's in one place I have seen in VA is at A&P Arms in Hampton. They are on Mercury blvd and usually have a wall full of AR's.
Try A&P arms in Hampton or Lynnhaven Arms in VB.They have a good selection but prices are about average. Shooters Inc. in Norfolk quoted me a price on an M&P 15T of $1250. Ask for Jerry. I wanted one fast and he was backordered so I got one from GunsAmerica.com for about the same price. Try Gunbroker.com also. Just remember to add in shipping and transfer costs when price comparing. Better hurry though $100 rebate is ending April 30th. ;)

Yeah I bought my Smith & Wesson M&p15x from A&P Lynnhaven Arms in VB for $1100 out the door + i'll get $100 back from rebate.
The Armory also carries S&W, Oly, DPMS, and Bushmaster rifles. They are discussing POF currently; if I hear correctly and they are now a dealer for CMMG as well.
If you are going to drive to Lynnhaven; the Armory is probably closer from the Peninsula.

Update:
I just called Degoffs and they are holding an M&P15 Tactical for me. I'll be picking it up in a few hours after I pick my son up from school.
Now to cross my fingers that this M&P15 will take PMAGS.
Thanks again to all for the info.
Any pics? ooops, guess I should read the post dates!! Good luck, hope you like it.

Thanks.
Now that I bought the rifle, how do I afford the ammo:confused:
Nice carbine.
DeGoff's manages to pack a whole bunch of stuff into a small shop.
I've had good luck runnin Barnaul steel cased stuff through my 6920 with the Crane extractor upgrade.
