Definitely the Stag; it is made by CMT which is GTG. Buy w/o fear. I'll put my money where my mouth is and pick up two. Need as well.

Here's a third option:

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/lower-parts/parts-kits/palmetto-state-armory-classic-qms-lpk.html

The PSA LPK is good to go and adding in the ALG QMS fire control group for a few bucks more is worth it in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with the Stag, but adding in an upgraded FCG for less then $20 more? No brainer.

I have Stag on one of my ARs, and no problems.

I've used several Stags in the past with great results.

The Stag is a great call if you already have a decent trigger.

If not, that PSA with an ALG for less than $20 more is a good buy. I am now using three of their LPKs in my rifles and they've all been great. I know that during the height of the scare PSA's customer service was rough, but at least for me (on the other side of the country, so everything is shipped a great distance) they've been solid on my recent orders.

My personal preference is to by ALG triggers from Brownells or BCM, then purchase the front and rear detents and springs, take down pins, etc.. and make my own parts kits. This way I am not having to sell off fire control components I don't need, pistol grips, etc...

OP, if you decide to go the route Iraqgunz suggested you can purchase individual lower parts from White Oak Armament (http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/home.php?cat=283) for pretty reasonable prices. They also sell complete LPKs (with ALG triggers) and trigger-less kits. I purchased my LPK from them and the parts are good quality, and their customer service is great. Just another option for you to consider.

Concur. The ALG ACT is a great tuned milspec FCG. Everything else can be obtained easily as individual parts.

OP already said that $160 for an LPK is to much for him to spend.

then he should consider the $80 kit that comes with the alg :dance3:

Which is exactly what I already suggested that he do...

I would never put a stag lpk in my gun, or a spikes for that matter. I don't care who makes them, both spikes and stag's tolerances for quality are lacking. Not only that but supporting those companies by sending them my money is a no go for me.

Listen to Iraqguns. Get an ALG trigger and individual parts from white oak or palmetto state. Lpk's are not all the same. You NEED the trigger group and bolt catch to be in spec!

PSA parts kits are nice. Quite the value.

This sounds like the best way to go what would you say are the most crucial parts that you would buy since you have a spare parts kit?
