View Full Version : Are Defiance H.A.L.O. sights tall enough to accommodate a can?

Been looking at the Sphinx SDP Compact Kryptonight Edition for some time now. Comes with a cool finish and tac sights. Just wanted to know whether they'd clear something like the Defiance APS. Any information is appreciated.

Also, any thoughts on the gun/can selection? It says 17+1 cap, which is 2 more than the normal Compact, but I don't see any difference in the grip dimensions. Anybody got info on that? Thanks.

I can't comment on cans, but I'd be unwilling to drop over a grand on a pistol unless it had a pretty well-established logistical tail, and I'm not sure that this one does.

Can you give us some insight into your reasons for choosing it? Are you in Europe?

Everything I've read about Sphinx pistols is positive. Some regard them as one of the highest quality lines today. The SDP is also built off of a proven CZ design with plenty of field time. Plus, I just love the look of the gun. Something clicked when I saw it, I don't know. Not in Europe either!

That Sphinx SDP looks like their version of CZ's P-07 Duty. I ended up selling that gun, wasn't a fan of the omega trigger.

That's all the reason you need right there.

Most people on M4Carbine prefer a pistol that's currently being used by a LOT of top police and special ops units. I suspect that several of them will be along directly to point you toward other choices.

Aren't you a college student in California?

I did not think it was legal for a non-LEO to buy a suppressor in California. And don't pistols have to go through some wacky approval process before you can buy one in that state? Has that pistol been approved yet?

If it's not something you can buy or own, I'm not sure I understand the point of this thread.

Maybe I'm just an enthusiast who likes researching new gear in the industry. I never said I was trying to buy it, I said I was looking at it. Why is everyone here always trying to play Dick Tracey
