I know I'm not on here very often and don't post much but a little while ago while searching for something or other I ran across a thread about the reliability and durability of W. German/Exeter NH Sig 220 45acp. I skimmed through it and continued onto whatever I was looking for. Today I came across a two tone German/US P220 and wanted to do a bit of research and now can't find the tread.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I searched "P220" "Sig 220" "Sig P220" and a bunch more variations and nothing. The post I'm looking for was very well written. I can't remember by whom but the guy new his guns.

Anyway can anyone either tell me what to expect? What should change if anything? Durability? Reliability? Or point me in the direction of that thread!

Thanks

I Google'd m4carbine sig 220 & it gave me a bunch of threads. . . . too many to list, but hope it helps narrow down your search.

Dang, thought it would help. Any idea of any part to the thread header/title?

Nope. I was looking for something a while back and ran into that thread. But now that ive kinda went through the forum and noticed Doc's posts are MIA im beginning to think it was one of his.

Ive been looking for a single stack 45 and currently have a S&W 4566. Just wanted to compare it to the Sig220. See if it's worth replacing the 4566 for the 220

Double post

These are two that I found searching with Google. I am sure there are more.

In my opinion the SIG 220 in .45 is an excellent pistol, but in some ways in reminds me of the HK P7. It is pistol designed to be mostly carried and not shot extensively.

I still own a Blued American model that sits in the safe. I shoot HK .45 pistols now. If you are looking for a pistol to shoot extensively the HK is what I would recommend. Because with a SIG there will be much more parts replacement required as well as maintenance.
