grip.

I know you can do it yourself or have it cut down,
but what does this leave you with a flared magwell extension options?

If you have done this, I would really like to see the pics, info.

Thank you.

You could always use the excess grip to form an integral magwell. Save some pennies in the process too. When heated the plastic used is malleable enough.

Stripped lower is pretty cheap, so cheap that you could probably buy one for practise nearly for the price of the magwell if you are unsure of your skills. (65€ in Europe at least.)

Lone wolf makes slides for smaller guns:

So you could use their g34 slide on your g19. Not sure on how well it works, but they have generally favorable reviews.

Pretty sure no off-the-shelf magwells will fit. An integral magwell is an option, but not a job for the faint of heart. I'm sure it would take lots of trial and error and quite possibly ruin/warp your frame in the process.

I've cut two G17 frames to take G19 mags. The first one looks pretty much like this one. The pistol in this image hasn't had the magwell opened up--you can see that there's still a fair amount of meat in the walls of the magwell. Fortunately, it's not hard to open them up. I used a rasp on mine, but a Dremel would also work. Just try to match the original G17 magwell and you'll be fine.

I left the backstrap a little longer on the other one. It looks like this:

I don't think anyone makes aftermarket mag wells for cut-down guns.

A buddy of mine has a cut down G22. Haven't got the chance to shoot it yet, but it handles real nicely. Not sure how well a 34 or 35 would feel with a 19/23 sized frame though.

That looks like it just belongs that way. A really great piece.

Thank you.If your good you can get an aftermarket magwell to work with fitting. Not always an easy process that may require knowledge of reshaping and resin work. You could also do a full resin type of magwell but that also takes a bit of knowledge and skill to do a good job. Another option is a "flared" magwell. This is my favorite option, however it takes some knowledge and techincal skill to do a good job and the potential to damage the frame or moreso put the grip of the weapon out of alignment or to stretch it too much is a real issue and then you will be needing a new frame. You may see a lot of chopping being done, less aftermarket magwell fitting, less resign magwells and even less flared magwells being performed. There is a reason for this. I have always given disclaimers about DIY stuff on Glocks, especially when I post pictures or when I used to have video. None the less I have had questions about how to fix the pistol after someone had tried to replicate what they had seen in pictures.

fwiw: Apologize if the photos came out a bit blurry. These were taken in low light, middle of a move, & imho came out pretty crappy, all needed tweaking.

I have thought about doing this with a second gen 17. I would remove the fringer grooves and stipple the full grip. then round butt or bobtail the piece of backstrap that comes down around the rear of the mag base.

maybe a LWD slide for the nosejob to round it out. and a round trigger guard but that's just me...

I don't like that back part hanging over the end of the magazine.

That's what Nyeti calls the "HK cut". It looks odd, but it keeps my hand from getting pinched between the frame and the base pad on fast reloads.

I also find that a frame cut like this is a bit faster than a straight G19 frame cut on the timer.

If it works for you, awesome.

I'm all about modifying a gun so it works for you.

I love the look of the material extending down to magazine. I have large hands and that would really help the feel of the grip. I love my 19, but a little more material would be nice. And the slightly longer barrel would maybe help my groups! :D

Do you have to use a LWD slide / Barrel? Or would OEM Glock work with this?
