The 3inch Mod 13 all you need in a pinch.

Once you get your head around the things a revolver can do this is the revolver the others would like to be.

I took this one in from a guy that knows the score and it was a real joy to help him.

He wanted to get the hole treatment so I did the it for him all the gun work and a holster.

The real deal on the 3inch mod 13 is that it dose all the things you could ask of a fighting handgun for concealment.

It is my hope that this customer will have this if he needs it and that it serves him well.

Let me know what you think?

I have this completely irrational desire to find a used Model 10 or Model 13 with a 3-inch tube, and have someone like you work your magic on it. I think it would be a very handy teaching gun as well.

As always, thanks for the pics, Joe. You always put fiendish thoughts in my head.

Mr. Smith

You are welcome
By the way I teach a revolver only class and the gun I teach with is a 3inch 65 one great hard use gun.

SeriousStudent

I used to have a stainless 4-inch Model 65 as a teaching gun. Like a fool, I sold it. :(

It was awesome with some .38 wadcutters sitting on top of 3.2 grains of Bullseye. Barely any recoil, and a really accurate load for that pistol. The soft Hogue grips on it made it very easy for the new shooter as well.

I'll bet your revolver class is a ton of fun! I'd love to do a "Fossil Firearms" class over a weekend - 12-gauge pump guns and K-frame revolvers. Then have some BBQ and Buffalo Trace after the guns are put away.

Mmmmmmm..... more evil thoughts....

Mr. Smith
08-10-13, 14:07
I Have plans on a lever Gun Revolver class this year.
The holster is a custom you can get direct from me at the shop.

This looks fantastic. Oddly enough, I have my eye on a 13 right now. Debating between a 2.5 inch nickle 19 and a 3" blued 13. I think you have helped me make up my mind.

Great work.

By the way I teach a revolver only class and the gun I teach with is a 3inch 65 one great hard use gun.

I was issued a 4" and a 3" model 65 back when. When we transitioned from the 65 to the Sig 226, I had the opportunity to buy the 65's from the Sig distributor, and passed. What a dummy! I still kick myself for that one regularly. Nice work on the 13 as usual. ;)

To go old school all the way I have what appears to be a clone of the old Jordan Border Patrol holster.

I too have a M13 3" HB. Got it a while ago, I learned to shoot with revolvers but had not had one for a while. The 3" seemed a good practical length for carry and general use. I now find myself using it more and more.

I have begun using it in competition, IDPA, where I have relearned the meaning of shot placement, accuracy and ammo management. Every stage becomes a limited stage.

I realize that modern autos offer higher capacity, lighter weight, faster reloads and a high degree of reliability. My question would be just where does a retro-fighting pistol like the M13 fit in now-a-days? Is it a complete anachronism or still viable for a trouble avoiding civilian?

nice. i have a secret fetish for revolvers just like this.

one thing that's kept me from getting one is the front sight. i just can't make it out.
what advice do you have around that?

I bought a Model 13 ten or so years ago. The previous owner had painted the front sight orange. It's held up well with cleaning chemicals and whatnot. I think you may be able to buy tritium paint if you would prefer something more like night sights.

I carry a 3" 626 almost all of the time... was in a local gunshop one day and some kid behind the counter asked if I felt "undergunned" carrying a revolver

Maybe if I was attacked by 7 velociraptors... unless I could catch two lined up one-behing-the-other.
